Your account
delete your nCommunity account.
Last revised 16 September 2026
If you still have the app
This is the fastest route, and it needs nothing from us. In the nCommunity app, open Settings → Account → Delete account. The screen tells you what goes and what stays before you confirm anything.
Nothing happens for 30 days. You will see the date it takes effect, and you can stop it from the same screen at any point before then. That delay is deliberate: the most common reason somebody deletes an account is a bad evening, and the second most common is a mistake.
If you no longer have the app
Use the privacy request form: choose delete my account and give the address on your account. We email a link there, and nothing happens until you open it.
You do not need to reinstall it. Email [PRIVACY EMAIL] from the address on your nCommunity account with the subject Delete my account.
We reply to confirm it is you before anything is deleted. That confirmation step is the point: without it, anybody who knows your email address could delete your account by typing it into a form.
Once you have confirmed, a person on our team checks the request and schedules it into the same 30-day queue as the in-app route. Our reply tells you the date. It is carried out on that date, and from then on the address can no longer sign in. We do not currently send a second message when it has been carried out.
What deletion removes
Your account stops existing and you can no longer sign in. Every session on every device is ended.
- Your name, handle, photograph and bio
- Your date of birth
- Your email address and phone number on your nCommunity account
- Every pending sign-in code, and your password if your account has one
- Every session, on every device
- Saved places and anywhere you told us you were
- Your interests and languages
- The text of your messages, for both people in the thread
- The written part of your reviews
- Saved cards
Your email address is released rather than held, so you can sign up again with the same address later if you want to.
What stays, and why
A small amount survives, and in each case it is because the record is about something that happened or about somebody else. We would rather say this plainly here than have you discover it afterwards.
| What stays | Why it is not ours to erase |
|---|---|
| That you attended an event | Somebody else's event really happened. A host's rating and a venue's visitor count are built from verified attendance, so removing yours would change their numbers. |
| Payment and payout records | The financial record. We are required to keep it, and it is append-only by design. |
| Places you hold at upcoming events | Deleting does not cancel them for you, because a paid place has a refund rule and a host counting on it. They stay held under "Deleted member". Cancel any you will not use before you delete, so somebody else can have the seat. |
| The record of what you paid, at our payment processor | A payment has to stay traceable to whoever made it, and that record includes the email address you paid with. Your saved cards are removed from it. |
| Reports and safety records | Including reports you filed about other people. If deleting an account cleared the safety record, deleting an account would be how somebody clears the safety record. |
| The star rating inside a review | The words come off. The number is part of a host's or a venue's average, and removing it changes a score other people rely on. |
None of what stays identifies you. The profile it hangs from is replaced with a blank marker, which is the narrowest thing that keeps those records valid.
If you only want to step away
Deleting is not the only option and it cannot be undone once the 30 days are up. To take a break without losing your account, turn notifications off under Settings → Notifications, and choose who can see that you are going to an event under Settings → Privacy. Both are reached from the You tab.
