Short answer
A person at nCommunity reads every report. You can see each report you sent, and whether we acted on it, under Your reports. We do not tell you what action was taken or share anything about the other person's account. If a decision is about your own account, you can read the reason and appeal it once under Account standing.
Check on a report you sent
- Open the You tab, then Safety Center.
- Under what you have reported, tap Your reports. (It is also in Settings, then Help and legal, then What you have reported.)
Each report shows one of these:
- with us: a person has not finished looking at it yet.
- reviewed: a person has looked at it.
- we acted: a person looked at it and we acted on it.
- no action: a person looked at it and did not take action.
- received: your report arrived. Updating the app shows more.
We do not promise how long a review takes. If something new happens, or you are worried, contact us. If you reported through the web form, keep the reference it gave you.
Nothing is automatic
A report never restricts anyone on its own. A person decides, and software never bans an account by itself.
If a decision is about your account
- Open You, then Safety Center, then Account standing.
- Anything in force is listed under what is in force., with the reason written for you and the dates it applies.
What each one means:
- A warning: nothing is restricted. It is on your record so you know it happened.
- You cannot RSVP: you can still browse, but you cannot say you are going to anything new.
- You cannot send messages: you can still read your conversations, but you cannot send anything new.
- Your account is suspended: you cannot RSVP, host or send messages while it lasts.
Things that have ended are listed under what has ended. They are kept so you can see what happened, not held against you.
Appeal a decision
- On Account standing, find the decision and tap I disagree with this.
- Under Your side of it, say what happened and what we missed.
- Tap Send it.
A person reads it. You can appeal each decision once, and the outcome and its reason appear on the same screen: Appeal sent, Somebody is reading it, Appeal upheld or Appeal not upheld. If an appeal is upheld, the restriction is lifted.
Common problems
- "nothing reported." You have not sent a report from this account, or it did not go through. Reports sent from the web form do not appear here.
- I cannot see what happened to the person I reported. That is deliberate. What happens to someone else's account is not shared.
- "Your messaging is restricted." Open the conversation's information button (About this conversation) to see when it ends, then appeal from Account standing.
