Short answer
You create an account in the nCommunity app with your email address. We send you a six-digit code, you type it in, and you are signed in. There is no password to remember, and signing in again later works exactly the same way.
Create an account
- Open the app and tap Get started.
- Enter your email address, tick the box to agree to the Terms and the Privacy Policy, and tap Continue.
- Check your email and enter the six-digit code.
- Enter your first name and choose your Birthday, then tap Continue. You need to be 18 or older. Your birthday never shows on your profile.
- Tap Use my location, or choose a neighborhood from the list.
- Pick at least three things you are into, then tap Continue.
- When you see "you're in.", tap See what's on.
We make a handle for you from your first name. You can change it, along with your name and photo, from your profile: open the You tab, tap Your profile, then tap Edit.
Sign in on a phone you have used before or a new one
- Open the app and tap Log in.
- Enter the email address on your account and tap Send code.
- Enter the six-digit code from your email.
If you had not finished setting up, the app takes you back to the step where you stopped. Otherwise it opens on Discover.
Common problems
- The code has not arrived. Check your spam or junk folder. After a short wait you can tap Resend code. Make sure the address you typed is the one you check.
- "That code didn't work. It may have expired." Ask for a new code and use the newest one.
- "Too many tries just now. Give it a minute." Wait a minute, then try again.
- "We couldn't deliver a code to that email." The address could not receive mail. Check it for typos or use a different address.
- "nCommunity is only in New York for now." Your phone's location is outside the area we cover. Choose the neighborhood you will be in from the list instead.
- You typed the wrong birthday. You cannot change it yourself. See Age rules and who can go to which events.
We will never ask you to send us your sign-in code. Do not share it with anybody.
