Short answer
You need to be 18 or older to have an nCommunity account. Individual events can set a higher minimum age, such as 21+. The app checks your birthday when you RSVP, so you can only say yes to events your age allows.
How event age limits show up
- An event with an age limit carries a tag such as 21+ on its card and on its event page.
- If you open an event whose age limit you do not meet, the event page tells you: "This event is 21+ and your profile does not meet that." You cannot RSVP or buy a ticket for it.
- The check happens again when you RSVP, so it applies however you reached the event.
Your birthday is never shown on your profile, and hosts cannot see it. A host only sets the age limit for their event.
If your birthday is wrong
You cannot change your birthday yourself. An age limit you could edit would not protect anybody, so a correction is made by our team.
- Open the You tab and tap Settings.
- Tap Help and legal, then Contact support.
- Tap New case, choose Account as the kind of problem, and explain what is wrong.
You will see replies and the outcome on the same screen. We cannot set a birthday that would make an account younger than 18.
If you cannot sign in, contact us about your account.
For hosts
When you create an event you can set a minimum age. It cannot be lower than 18. Anyone below your limit is stopped at RSVP, so you do not need to check ages in the app yourself. Follow the law and your venue's rules at the door.
