Earnings and billing

Where your money is, payout status and holds

Short answer

Money from ticket sales is held until after your event has happened, then sent to your payout account. Your bank then moves it on its own schedule. The earnings screen shows where every amount is, and says so when payouts are paused.

Find your earnings

  • In the app: once you have earned something, a Balance card appears at the top of the You tab. Tap it to open Your earnings.
  • In Studio: creators open Earnings. Venues open Earnings, which also has a Booking fees tab.

The Balance card shows:

  • available now: ready to be sent in the next payout.
  • On its way: already claimed into a transfer to your payout account.
  • Settling, est.: from events that have not settled yet. It is an estimate, because a refund can still change it.

When you get paid

Open Paid events and tap How payouts work for the current rules. It tells you:

  • how long money is held after your event before it is sent
  • how long payouts pause after you change where your money goes

These figures are shown by the app, so check them there rather than relying on a number from anywhere else.

What each payout state means

Under Payouts on Your earnings, each payout has a state:

  • Being sent: the payout is being prepared.
  • On its way: it is on its way to your payout account.
  • Transferred: we sent it to your payout account. It moves on to your own bank from there, on a schedule we cannot see.
  • Didn't go through: we will try again. If it keeps failing, check your payout details on Paid events.
  • Reversed: the transfer was returned.

Transferred does not mean the money is in your bank yet. Your bank's schedule is set in your payout account.

When payouts are paused

If payouts are paused, Your earnings says Payouts are paused until a date, and the Balance card says Paused until the same date. This happens after a change to where your money goes, and while something on your account is still being settled. Nothing is lost, and the money is sent when the pause lifts.

If you did not expect a pause, check Changes to this account on Paid events. If a change there says Not from your account, or you do not recognise it, contact support now.

If you owe nCommunity money

If a guest was refunded after you were paid, a dispute was put down to your event, or you owe for promotion you ran, Your earnings shows You owe nCommunity and the amount. It comes out of what you earn next. We never charge your bank account or your card for it. The breakdown underneath lists what it is made of, and Kept back to settle what you owed shows what has already been taken from payouts.

See Refunds and disputes for hosts.

A payout has not arrived

  1. On Your earnings, check the payout's state.
  2. If it says Transferred, check your payout account's schedule and your bank.
  3. If it says Didn't go through, open Paid events and finish anything listed as still needed.
  4. If nothing explains it, open a support case. On the You tab, tap Settings, then Help and legal, then Contact support, then New case, and choose Earnings or payout.
