Short answer
To sell tickets, you first turn on paid events. That sets up where your money goes. Setup happens in a secure form run by our payments partner, and nCommunity never stores your bank or ID details.
Before you start
- You need to have started at least one event. If you have not, the Paid events screen says start with an event. and offers Create an event.
- You may be asked to agree to the host agreement first.
- Because this changes where money goes, you may be asked to confirm it is you with a code we email you.
Turn on paid events
- Tap the Create tab.
- Tap the paid event. card. While it is locked, its ticket stub says Locked and set up payouts, and tapping it opens Paid events.
- Tap Turn on paid events.
- If asked, agree to the host agreement, and enter the code from your email.
- Fill in the secure form. It asks for the details needed to pay you, such as your bank account.
- When you close the form, Paid events shows your progress.
You can also reach Paid events from a paid event draft, when you set a price.
Check your progress
The Paid events screen lists each step:
- Setup started
- Ticket sales on: you can sell tickets.
- Bank payouts on: money can reach your bank.
- Being checked: you have given everything asked for, and the details are being checked.
Anything still needed is listed with its own line. Tap Continue setup to finish it. When everything is done, the screen says you can sell tickets. and shows Payouts are on.
On the Create tab, the paid card then says On sale, and tapping it starts a paid event. A Paid events row with On appears under it, which is how you get back to this screen later.
Changing your bank details
- Open Paid events from the Create tab.
- Tap Payouts are on to open your payout details.
- Make the change in the secure form.
Changing where your money goes pauses payouts for a while. The How payouts work button on Paid events says how long. See Payout status and holds.
Every change is listed under Changes to this account, with who made it:
- You did this
- Through payout setup
- Not from your account
If you see a change you did not make, contact support straight away.
Common problems
- The screen says payouts are not switched on in this build yet. Paid events are not available in the version of the app you are using. Free events still work.
- The code check did not go through. The screen says to try once more. If it keeps failing, contact support.
- You finished the form and still cannot sell tickets. If the screen shows Being checked, the details are still being checked. If it lists something left to do, tap Continue setup.
- You use Studio. Creator desks set up payouts from Earnings in Studio.
