Short answer
Open the Discover tab to browse what is on near you, and use the row of chips to narrow it down. To look for something specific, use the Search tab.
Browse on Discover
- Tap Discover at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap a chip under the header to change what you see: all, for you, tonight, tomorrow, this weekend, nearby, free, going solo, new here or my languages. Swipe the row to see every chip.
- Tap an event to open its page.
for you, nearby, new here and my languages put events in an order that suits you. The other chips only leave events out.
Change how far away events can be
- On Discover, tap your place and distance at the top right (for example "Manhattan, NY ยท 10 miles").
- Move the slider. The sheet shows how many events are on within that distance.
- Tap Done.
If Discover finds nothing, tap Look further out to widen your distance.
See events on a map
- On Discover, tap the round map button at the start of the chip row.
- The map shows the events your chosen chip allows. You can switch between all, tonight, tomorrow, this weekend, free and going solo on the map too, and your choice carries back to Discover.
- Move the map somewhere else and tap Search this area to look there.
- Tap List at the bottom to go back to the list.
Distances are always measured from the place you set, not from the middle of the map.
Search for something specific
- Tap Search.
- Type in What are you looking for? Results are grouped into Events, Communities, Hosts and Venues.
- Tap Filters to narrow the results. You can choose How far, When, Cost, Going solo, Group size, Experience, Vibe and Access.
- Tap Apply to use your filters, or Clear to remove them.
Before you type, Search shows the kinds of things you are into, ranked by what is actually on near you. Tap one to see those events.
Save an event for later
- Open the event.
- Tap the bookmark button at the top of the page. It changes to show the event is saved.
- To find your saved events, tap You, then Saved.
Events that have already happened drop off your saved list on their own.
Common problems
- Discover says there is nothing on. Try another chip, or widen your distance. We may still be gathering hosts in your area.
- A card says Sponsored. A business or host paid to move that event higher. It still had to match the chip you chose, your distance and the event's age rule.
- An event you expected is missing. Events you have asked us to stop showing you stay hidden. To review them, tap You, then Settings, then Blocked and hidden.
