Account, privacy and technical help

Get a copy of your data

Short answer

In the app you can download a copy of your data straight away. For anything else, such as correcting something or limiting how it is used, you can send a request and follow it in the app. If you cannot sign in, use the web form.

Download your data in the app

  1. Open the You tab, tap Settings, then Account.
  2. Under your record, tap Get a copy of your data.
  3. Tap Get my data.
  4. Your phone's share sheet opens. Choose where to save or send the file.

The copy includes your profile, the events you said yes to and turned up at, what you saved, what you wrote, and anything you paid or were paid. We do not email it to you and we do not keep a copy of the export.

It does not include other people's side of things, such as the other half of a conversation.

Ask for something else

  1. In Settings, then Account, tap Ask about your data.
  2. Tap make a request and choose what you want: a copy of what we hold, a correction, a limit on how something is used, or something else.
  3. Add any details and send it.

Your requests stay listed on that screen with their status, such as received, being handled or done, and the date we will answer by.

If you cannot sign in

Use the privacy request form. Enter the email address on your account and choose your request. We email a link to that address, and nothing happens until you open it. A person handles every request and may ask a question to check it is you. Please do not send identity documents.

Studio accounts

In Studio, open Account, find your data requests, and select Make a request.

Common problems

  • "Sign in again and try once more." Your session has expired. Sign in again and repeat the steps.
  • "We couldn't reach our end. Check your connection." Check your connection and try again.
  • "That didn't work. Nothing about your account changed." Try again later, or contact us.
