Short answer
Your privacy controls in the app are under the You tab, then Settings. Optional analytics is off until you turn it on, in the app, in Studio and on the website, and each keeps its own choice.
Who sees that you are going
- Open Settings and tap Privacy.
- Under who sees that you are going, choose one:
- other people going: people who have also said yes can see you are coming.
- other people going, once I am there: nobody sees you until the door checks you in.
- only the host: no other attendee sees you. The host still sees you, because they need it to run the door.
This applies to every event, and whichever you choose, you still get in.
On the same screen, Let people you met connect with you decides whether people who were verifiably at the same event can connect with you. A connection needs both of you to say yes. Turning it off means nobody can.
What your profile shows
Your birthday never shows on your profile. To choose who sees your interests, go to Settings, then About you, and use the control next to into: anyone, just for matching (used to find you things, never shown) or private. To see your profile the way another member does, open the You tab and tap Your profile.
Blocking and hiding are different
Go to Settings, then Blocked and hidden.
- Blocked accounts is about people. A block cuts contact both ways.
- Hidden from discovery is about what you are shown. Hosts, venues and events you hide stay out of your Discover and search. Nobody is told, and it is not a report. Tap show again to undo.
Hiding something does not hide you from anybody. Reporting is separate again: you report a person, message, event or venue from the thing itself, or with the report form.
Analytics in the app
The first time you open the app, it asks about optional analytics. Choose Accept all, Reject optional, or Manage preferences. To change it later:
- Open Settings and tap Privacy & tracking.
- Turn Analytics on or off. Session replay can only be on when analytics is on, and it masks text, images and fields.
Essential storage, which keeps you signed in and the app working, is always on. Your choice is saved on that phone, and the app asks again after 180 days. Turning analytics off stops collection from then on; it does not delete what was already sent. To ask about data already collected, see export your data.
Analytics in Studio
In Studio, open Account and find privacy and cookies. Product analytics and Masked session replay both stay off until you turn them on.
Cookies on the website
Choose privacy & cookie settings at the bottom of the website's pages. Analytics cookies stay off unless you allow them. Your choice is stored only in that browser, so it does not follow you to another device or to Studio.
