Short answer
Open the You tab, tap Settings, then Notifications. The switches there decide which kinds of notification nCommunity may send you. Each change saves as soon as you make it.
Things you asked for
These are about events you have a place at and people you already know. They start on.
- Event reminders: before something you said yes to.
- Changes and cancellations: when a host moves, changes or calls off something you are going to.
- Your place: confirmations, and when the waitlist reaches you.
- Messages: from people you connected with after an event.
- New connections: when somebody you met says yes back.
- Community announcements: from communities you are in.
Turning off Changes and cancellations means you may not hear that an event you are going to has moved. The change is still shown on the event in the app.
Things we would send you
These exist to bring you back to the app. They stay off unless you turn them on.
- Suggestion notifications: about events you might like. Never by email.
- Promotional email: when a host you have been to puts something new on. Receipts and changes to your plans still arrive by email even with this off.
Quiet hours
Turn on Keep quiet overnight, then tap from and until to set the times. Nothing arrives in that window, except a reminder for something that starts inside it.
Your phone's own setting
Your phone decides whether the app can show notifications at all.
- If the screen says your phone has never been asked, tap turn on notifications.
- If it says notifications are switched off in your phone's Settings, turn them on there. Your choices in the app are kept and apply again once you do.
Live Activities on iPhone
On iPhones that support them, a section called on your lock screen appears. Live Activities shows a countdown before an event you are going to and "you're in." once you are checked in. It never shows your check-in code and never makes a sound. Turn on Keep it discreet to show "your plans tonight" instead of the event name, photo and place.
Text messages
The Text Messages row is there, but texts cannot be turned on yet, because a phone number cannot be added to an account yet.
Common problems
- "that didn't save." Check your connection and change the switch again.
- Notifications are not arriving. Check that notifications are allowed for nCommunity in your phone's settings, that the switch for that kind is on, and that it is not during your quiet hours. Keep the app up to date.
