Short answer
Refunds on tickets follow the refund terms the host set for that event, which you see before you pay. When a refund is sent, we email you. Refunds always go back to the card that paid.
When you get money back
- The host cancels the event. You get everything back, automatically.
- The host removes you from a paid event. What remains of your payment is refunded automatically.
- You cancel. You get what the event's refund terms allow. The terms say how much comes back, until when, and whether the service fee is returned. The message you see before confirming the cancellation states what you will get.
- Your payment went through after your held place ran out. If a place is still free, you get it. If not, the payment is refunded in full.
- The location of a private residence event changes. You are offered a refund for a limited time. See When an event is cancelled or changed.
Hosts cannot make refund terms stricter once someone has paid. They can only make them more generous.
Where to see the refund terms
- On the event page, under the Get tickets button.
- On the checkout screen, above the pay button. If the terms cannot be loaded, checkout does not let you pay until they can.
- In your purchase receipt email.
How to know a refund was sent
We email you when a ticket refund is sent. The subject starts with Your refund for or Your money back for, followed by the event name. It says how much is coming back and, if anything was kept, why.
The email says refunds usually reach a card within five to ten days, depending on your bank. Your bank decides when it appears on your statement.
The app does not list ticket refunds. For a private residence event where you chose Cancel & refund, the event page shows Ticket cancelled with Refund to original payer pending.
Extras bought through an event payment link
Extras have their own refund controls.
- On the You tab, tap Your plans.
- Tap receipts. This opens Event purchases.
- Open a purchase. Each item shows how many were refunded and its refund terms. Where a refund is available, tap Refund.
If a refund has not arrived
- Check your email, including spam, for one of the refund emails above.
- If you have the email and the money has not appeared after the time it describes, ask your bank first. They can see incoming refunds.
- If you have no email, or the amount looks wrong, contact support. On the You tab, tap Settings, then Help and legal, then Contact support. Tap New case, and under Kind of problem choose Payment or refund.
Include the event name, the date you paid and the amount. Never send a full card number. The last four digits are enough.
You can also use the contact page if you cannot sign in.
