Changes, cancellations and refunds

The host did not show up, or the event did not happen

Short answer

If you arrive and the host is not there, or the event is not happening, report the event from its page and open a support case. A person reads both. Refunds in this situation are not automatic, so tell us.

At the location

  1. Check the event page for changes. Pull down to refresh it.
  2. Check that you are at the address shown on the event page.
  3. If the event was cancelled, the page says This event was cancelled. and anyone who paid is refunded in full automatically. See When an event is cancelled or changed.

Report the event

  1. Open the event.
  2. Tap the More button at the top of the page, then Report a problem.
  3. Choose what the problem is about: The event, The host, or The venue. The venue option appears only when the event has a venue.
  4. Choose the reason that fits. For the event, that might be It is not what the listing says, It is a scam or Something else. For a venue that was closed or missing, choose It is not there, or it has closed.
  5. The report is sent as soon as you choose a reason. You see Sent. A person reads this.

The report has no space for details, so put what happened in a support case, as below.

A person reads every report, and nothing happens to anybody automatically because you sent one. To see where your report got to, on the You tab tap Settings, then Help and legal, then What you have reported.

Ask about your money

A report does not issue a refund by itself. Open a support case too, especially if you paid:

  1. On the You tab, tap Settings, then Help and legal, then Contact support.
  2. Tap New case. Under Kind of problem, choose Payment or refund.
  3. In What happened?, give the event name, the date, the amount you paid, when you arrived, how long you waited and what you found. Mention that you also reported the event.
  4. Tap Send to support.

Someone on our team reviews what happened and replies in the case. Any refund is decided by a person, not automatically.

If you are marked as not attending

If nobody could check you in because the host never arrived, your plan may later say You said you'd go, and weren't checked in. Tap I was there on that plan to dispute it.

Common problems

  • You cannot find the event any more. On the You tab, tap Your plans. Events you hold a place at stay there.
  • You cannot sign in. Use the contact page.
