Studio for businesses and brands

Set up a Studio desk and invite your team

Short answer

nCommunity Studio at https://studio.ncommunity.app is where businesses, venues, brands and creators run their side of nCommunity. It has its own email and password, separate from the nCommunity app. Each desk has a team, and only an owner can invite or remove people.

Create a Studio account

  1. Go to https://studio.ncommunity.app and choose Create an account.
  2. Under what are you here as?, choose A creator, A business, A venue or A brand. The kinds are described below.
  3. Enter what your desk is called, your name, your email and a password of at least ten characters.
  4. Accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, then tap Create the account.
  5. Open the confirmation email and follow the link. If it has not arrived, check spam, or use Send another email.
  • A creator puts on events.
  • A business wants people nearby to come through its door.
  • A venue has a room and wants hosts to book it.
  • A brand has a goal and wants people to show up for it.

A business, brand or creator desk is created straight away. A venue is claimed instead, and a person checks it before you can run it. See claim and verify a venue.

If you already use the nCommunity app, you can choose Sign in with a code instead on the sign-in form and use the same email as your member account.

Creators also need the app

People coming to an event see the person hosting it, so a creator desk needs a member profile. Studio asks you to finish that setup in the app with the same email. Your Studio sign-in does not carry over to the app; sign in there separately.

Find your way around

The rail on the left changes with the kind of desk. At the bottom of every desk are Help and Account. Use Account for Change password and Change my sign-in email.

Invite someone to a business, brand or creator desk

  1. Open Team and choose Invite someone.
  2. Enter Their email address. It must be the address they sign in with.
  3. Under What they can do, pick a role. Each role says what it allows.
  4. Choose Invite.
  5. To be sure it reaches them, use Copy invite link and send the link yourself. The link opens sign-in with their address filled in and grants nothing on its own.

Nobody gets access until they accept. The person creates or signs in to a Studio account with the invited address (choosing I was invited to join a team if they are new) and then chooses Join or Accept. They can also choose No thanks or Decline.

Common roles:

  • Owner: everything, including the team.
  • Admin: everything except the team.
  • Member: works in the desk, but cannot change the team.

Brand desks also offer campaign roles such as Campaign manager, Creative approver and Finance.

Invite someone to a venue

  1. Open Team and fill in invite a teammate: their email, a role (Manager or Owner), and whether they Can accept bookings.
  2. Choose Save invitation, then Copy invite link and send it to them. Venue invitations are not emailed, and the link lasts 7 days. Use Renew invitation if it runs out.

Change or remove people

  • Only an owner can change roles or remove people.
  • Every desk must keep at least one owner. The last owner cannot be removed, so add a second trusted owner before you leave.
  • To remove someone, choose Remove from team (or Remove member on a venue). Their access ends immediately.
  • To withdraw an invitation that has not been accepted, choose Cancel invitation (or Revoke invitation on a venue).

Being on a Studio team does not make anybody a co-host or door staff at an event. Those roles are managed per event in the app. See co-hosts and door staff.

Common problems

  • "That email and password do not match an account." Check the address, or use I have forgotten my password.
  • "There is already an account with that email. Sign in instead." Sign in rather than creating a new account.
  • "Somebody already has that name." Pick a different name for your desk.
  • "That email is already on this team or has an invitation waiting." Check the invitations list on Team.
  • The invited person cannot see the invitation. They must sign in with exactly the address you invited.
