Add co-hosts and door staff to your event

Short answer

Open your event, tap Who helps you run it, then add somebody, and enter the person's exact handle. Choose co-host or door for them. Door staff never count toward your plan's co-host limit.

What each role can do

  • host (you): everything, including cancelling.
  • co-host: edit the event, announce, and work the door.
  • door: check people in. Nothing else.

Only you, as the host, can call the event off.

Add somebody

  1. Ask the person for their handle. It is the @name on their profile.
  2. Open the Create tab and tap your event.
  3. Under who is coming, tap Who helps you run it. The screen is titled Who runs this.
  4. Tap add somebody.
  5. Type the handle under their handle and tap find.
  6. Under what they can do, choose co-host or door.
  7. Tap add them.

They do not need to be coming to the event, and you can add them before anybody has RSVPd.

The co-host limit

Who runs this shows how many co-hosts you have and how many your plan includes. Door staff do not count toward it, so you can always add people to work the door.

Remove somebody

  1. On Who runs this, tap the cross beside the person.
  2. Confirm with remove, or tap keep them.

A removed co-host can no longer edit the event or work the door. Removed door staff can no longer check anybody in.

Common problems

  • "No match. Handles are exact, so check the spelling with them." The search only finds an exact handle, not part of a name. Check the spelling with the person.
  • "Already on your team as ..." They already have a role on this event.
  • A message about what your plan includes. You have reached the co-host limit. Remove a co-host, or add the person as door instead.
  • "You cannot give this person a role on your event." You cannot add this person.
  • "You are already running this one." You cannot add yourself.

Studio teams are different

Being on a Studio desk team does not make anybody a co-host or door staff. Each event's team is managed in the app, as above.
