Short answer
Open your event, tap Tell everyone something, write your update and tap post announcement. It appears on the event for everyone holding a place. An urgent operational update can also notify them.
Steps
- Open the Create tab and tap your event.
- Under the night itself, tap Tell everyone something. The screen is titled Tell everyone.
- Choose a Purpose: Event operations for practical information, or Promotion for anything promotional.
- Write your message under Announcement, between 2 and 2,000 characters.
- Turn on Urgent operational update only for important event-day changes.
- Tap post announcement. You see Announcement posted. when it is done.
Your earlier announcements are listed on the same screen.
Ordinary and urgent
- Ordinary announcements stay in the event, where people coming can read them.
- Urgent operational updates can notify people holding a place. The app allows up to two urgent updates per six hours.
- Promotional announcements always stay in the event. They cannot be urgent.
Announcements are one way. There are no likes, replies or view counts.
Who can post
You and your co-hosts can post. Door staff cannot.
Changing the time or place
You do not need an announcement to tell people the event moved. Changing when or where it is through Change something tells everyone holding a place automatically. See edit a live event.
Common problems
- "We could not confirm the post." Your text is kept. Posting it again is safe; it will not go out twice.
- "Announcement posted, but history could not refresh." The post went out. Pull down to load the list again.
- "we couldn't load what you have sent." Tap Try again before posting, so you do not repeat an announcement people already have.
- "Tell everyone something" is missing. The row shows on a published event before its start time.
