Short answer
Open the event from the Create tab and tap Change something. You can change the name and description freely. If you change something people agreed to, such as when it starts, everyone holding a place is told automatically. There is no separate message to write.
Steps
- Open the Create tab and tap your event under yours.
- Under the listing, tap Change something.
- Edit the name, the description, when, how many people fit, or the interests and language.
- Tap save. If your change will be sent to people, the button reads save and tell everyone, and a dialog titled everyone coming will be told names what you are changing.
- Tap change it and tell them to confirm, or go back to leave it.
Which changes tell people
A change is announced when it alters what people said yes to:
- when the event starts or ends
- where it is
- the price
- the age limit going up
- the number of places going down
These are not announced: the name, the description, the photo and the category. Your guests are not notified for every small edit, so the notice that matters stands out.
The people told are those holding a place. The message says what changed, and they can pull out without it counting against them.
After you save
- The event's page shows a notice saying what you changed and that everyone was told.
- What has changed lists every change recorded for the event.
- To answer common questions without changing the listing, use Questions people ask. To say something else to everyone coming, see announcements to attendees.
Common problems
- "That is fewer than the number already coming." You can still lower the number of places. Nobody is removed, but the event shows as over its limit and new people cannot join. See capacity and waitlist.
- "that didn't save. Try again." Nothing changed and nobody was told. Try again when you have a connection.
- You want to change the price after people have paid. This is refused, so nobody holds the same place at two different prices.
- The event has been cancelled. A cancelled event cannot be edited. Put it on again as a new event.
